Eclipse AVN5435 questions
Guys,
I am buying this unit used. Does it come with an activation code?
Right now, I have an alpine 9833 with two amps connecting through the standard rca interconnect cables. The eclipse uses the same type cables?
Also does the unit require a power supply going straight to the battery? For the alpine, I just used the stock line because I didn't need to use the amp from the unit (resulting in less power usage).
What kit fits/require for this unit? AI or metra?
How is the installation? I did my current system so I have some experience
.
Thanks,
Tony

If the code is set it is a particular CD (ie Aerosmith "PUMP" or The Clash "London calling"). So you will need a copy of that CD. If it is not set you can set it using any CD.
Yep standard RCA cable.
The stock line will work just fine.
Metra
Installation is a piece of cake. just get the right adaptor... I have all my manuals if you run into problems with the wiring.

Kirkster,
So you are saying the code is set based on one's favorite cd?
Perhaps you can give me some hints about the brake/sensor wire, along with how I can bypass the nav/dvd while the car is moving too.
Thanks.

Yep the security code is based on your favorite CD... but then you should not leave that cd in the car...
I just did not hook up the brake sensor wire. So the break is always off... and then you can play a dvd anytime.
you MUST hook up the speed sensor wire for the gps based driving directions to work properly... It is an easy hookup right at the little white box below the stereo...

Can you help me out with that...
What wire from the unit goes to what wire on the white box?? and do I just "tap" into it with a wire tapper?

I have already done the install... but just didnt tap the speed sensor wire. But I did ground the parking brake wire so I can use GPS and watch DVDs while driving.
