Default How to remove map light trim for V1 install?

I'm trying to hardwire a V1 but tapping into the mirror wiring skips the fuse that comes with the V1. I thought the 'bulge' immediately forward of the glasses holder would have plenty of room to stash it.

I got the lights removed but the trim around it won't budge. Anyone know how to remove this w/o tearing up the headliner? Am I the first one to try this as I can't find any posts related to this.

Those three links seem like quite a bit of work, I ended up tapping into the wires for the mirror. The hot wire that comes on with ignition is maroon stripe, the all black is ground. If you have a base, I don't know if the wires are already in there and just not pulled out or not though.
