CD cuts out on left side
Anyone else having / had problems with the factory CD player cutting out on one channel?
I can be cruising and the left side just quits when using the CD. If I switch to Radio it works. If I power cycle some times it works. Many times it quits when braking so I was thinking a connection, but why would the stereo still work. it seems like an amp problem to me but that should be universal and affect the radio the same way.
Q #2 - I bought the car used and found that there is a red monster cable on the battery lead but cannot find any after market amp in the car. I find it hard to beleive that this is factory because the fuse holder is not mounted to anything. Can anyone verify if they have the same deal from the factory?

Yeah, it's a known problem. I have it as well. If you still have waranty, you can go to the dealer and tell them to order a new HU. They'll probably try to fix it in a different way. After working for 5 hours on your car swapping speakers from the left to the right, checking cables, replacing cables, trying other CD's..... They'll realise it's the HU which is faulty (as radio normal works on the left) and order you a new one.
If you don't have any warranty left, replace it with a proper HU (touchscreen or so).
The cable you're talking about might have been from a previous aftermarket sound sytem or part of a grounding kit????
