Installing Pioneer 6800-NEED HELP !
Guys please dont hit me with "this is stupid, wrong, dumb, not my flavor" Myself and a friend are installing the Pioneer 6800 (7" DVD/CD) into my 03' Z. My question is regarding the bypass for watching DVD's "while in motion."
In the schematic it tells you to power the e-brake wire and it will let you watch DVD's. We tried hooking up this wire to an ACC 12V source and a constamt 12V source but it wont play DVD's. We even tried a toggle swicth to act as if the E-brake was down and then put up (on/off switch) and it didnt work. We get sound on movies but no picture and the HU thinks we are moving as it says something along the lines of "front seat entertainment is prohibited blah blah." Can anybody offer any advice on how to bypass this? Any input is greatly appreciated.

put a switch somehwere, and connect hte parking brake lead wire to one side of hte swtich, connec the other side to ground.
basically, the unit cannot see a ground signal on this wire ALL the time, when it boots up, it needs to see that there is NO GROUND on the wire, so basically you flick the switch off, then when you want to run the bypass, simply toggle the swtich over...
done...
but please dont watch dvds while driving

Thank you for the help, very simple fix. We didnt realize the parking brake lead wire was hot, or that the unit ouldnt see constant ground. That did the trick. Thanks again.
