Default Bose Speakers in Base Model...

I have a 2004 Base model 350Z. My rear speakers went out and I bought some OEM speakers from ebay to replace them with (and before you say it, I want to keep it stock, no aftermarket speakers). When they came in the mail yesterday they ended up being the Bose version of the OEM speakers. I plugged them up and they seem to work fine. The problem is they seem to overpower the front speakers so I have to make the fade almost all the way to the front to equalize it. Is that normal? Will having the Bose versions hurt anything? Is the wattage and power the same? Thanks for everyone's help in advance!

I only had my stock Bose system installed for a few hundred miles before ripping the thing out. With my aftermarket speakers I do have to have the balance thrown way to the front to reduce the rear speaker's level to just barely noticable. Most people will listen with the volume reduced this way or even shut the rear speakers all the way off.

Get aftermarket speakers!! (j/k, sorry I couldn't resist). The only thing I'd be concerned with is I know Bose used to use low impedance speakers (2 ohm) as opposed to typical 4 ohm speakers (I think the rears in the Z may even be 8 ohm but I'm not positive?). You really wouldn't want to run speakers of such low impedance (if in fact the Bose versions are) from your factory head unit as it could burn it up (wasn't designed for such a low impedance).

Perhaps some of the members on here that have had their Z's apart can comment on the impedance of the factory speakers. Sorry I can't be of more help.
