Default Factory Nav. free software upgrade

Checked the mail today and was surprized to see that Nissan sent me a free navigation software upgrade DVD. This upgrades from Ver 6.0 to 6.1. The letter says it adds expanded map coverage and a larger point of intrest database. Has anyone else recieved this yet that has the factory nav unit? Here's the letter....hope it's legible.

Nice to see Nissan is giving this out. I hope everybody starts to get them soon.

I wonder how much and how frequent they'll be?

Default Not yet here

Haven't received mine yet. The date on the letter tells me that I would expect to see it in a few.

Thanks for the FYI!!!

It looks the same except that it's a cardboard case. I never noticed it before.

I picked up my car middle of January. It's a VIN in the 11k range. At any rate, I checked the version of my DVD today, and I've already got the 6.1... my car was actually made in November, so it looks like all cars mfgd in November or later actually have the update already.

Default How Can You Tell?

Where do you get the version number?

My map CD didn't come in a case, it was already in the player unit.

Where is this data?

My VIN is XXXXXXX5632. I got got the car in mid November. It came with the new version 6.1 CD. The only way I could see the version number was to pop the CD out and read it off the label.

Default The first one is free...

I got the first update free on the Pathfinder; the next one(s) were $120 each.

I think they try to give you a full year of good data free.

FWIW, the latest CD for the non-DVD-system is not better than the old one for most purposes, and wasn't worth the money.
