I saw a thread showing the 03 cubby in an 04 (i think) and there was a gap along the top when the lid is closed. Can anyone confirm that it does or doesn't line up? Pics? Thanks.

 

Yes, there is a gap along the top edge when you install the 03 cubby lid in an 04 and later Z's. Also the lid will be lighter in color than the rest of the console. However, these differences are subtle and most of my passengers don't notice them. Here is a pic in my 04 Z. BTW my lid cover is painted to match the 04-up center console color better.

 

What kind of paint did you use to paint the door? Isn't it hard to paint since it's a rubbery material? Name of paint and code please if you don't mind.. thanks!

 

+1 i'd like to know as well. Just picked up my 03 cubby and yeah it looks a little silverish.

 

hey guys i have an 05 ZR and there is a slight color differance but you really have to look at it hard as hell to see and the cubby door will fit perfect as good as the 05 door i have it installed in my car for my car pc

 

Sorry guys for the delay, it took me a while to find the paint can, I used Black Duplicolor Vinyl spray paint. Not an exact match, but pretty close. The 03 cubby cover is hard plastic so it does not require any preping except cleaning the surface well. Hope this helps.
