I have the first generation of the Escort Passport and it still works great after 5 years. It falses once in a while but usually the false alarms are very weak except for the lazer. Cheaper detectors false so much that you get too worried to even play.

Thread revival!

My laser went off for a good 4 miles with only brief pauses tonight, most annoying thing ever. I got my Z in june and ever since then it has been giving me fake laser signals, I hate it.

In response to the original post, my 8500 used to do the EXACT same thing, it would go off on LASER sometimes when I would hit the gas pretty good. I changed the power cord after a couple months and the problem completely went away. Now the Laser goes off about once a month.

Where did you get a new cord?
