Maybe send a universal learning remote to someone w/ a Farenheit monitor and get them to program it for you and send it back.

Wish I could help, but I have a Lilliput LCD

I just ordered a farenheit but didn't wonder that the remote would be necessary to switch on the screen every time I need it...
So, there's no way to trigger it with the remote wire of the head unit ??

Sorry to hear your luck.

Did you buy it on Ebay?.... B/C there are a couple of scams regarding those screens. They write in fine print that the remote does not come with the screen eventhos they say its brand new. Then they sell the screen a few bucks less and people buy it. Then they sell the REMOTE seperatly. This way they get more $$dow. Its a dumb simple scam.

here is a link for a Screen scam WITHOUT a remote. Buyer beware! Read everything on the auction before bidding!

This guy even gives you a hint that you can buy the remote on ebay! You think your going to save $5 but you spend $40 more in the end (shipping twice).

I'm thinking you have to break out a button push on the remote control.

I have mine set to be on all the time, but i put a toggle switch on the power line and can turn it on/off with that instead of reaching for the remote all the time.

so you can set it to switch on as soon as it gets power, on the ignition lead for example. You just need the remote to manually switch it on the first time in fact? Am I right?

I also think you will need the remote to change the gamma and brightness and such?
