Thumbs down Factory NAV door breaks for the 4th time in 1 year!!!

1st time posting a new thread here, although I lurk here all the time......

I have the 05 35th Anniv w/everything including NAV, and ever since the 2nd month having the car, I've had to take the car in at least 4 times to get the NAV door fixed. The door just gets stuck half way, and stays there. I'm sick and tired of taking the car into service, as my time is valuable, and I could go out and buy a nice head unit for the 2K I paid for the factory model.

I've done some searching on this subject, and I've found some people who've had a few problems with their NAV, but probably not to the extent I have.

My question is this:
When is enough, enough?? How many times do I have to take this piece of sh|t in there before I can at least get a refund on the equipment?

.......take the damn thing out of there and give me my money back is what I say!!!

Any thoughts/advice on the subject would be appreciated!!!

Is that Orange County California, Florida, or New York?

State laws are different in each state.

Are they replacing the motor and the door each time? I had mine replaced at 500 miles, that was last year, and I am at 3250 with no problems. They replaced everything the first time!

Call Nissan USA and put in a complaint.

I have an 05 as well.

GL!

I'm on my second nav door...we paid 2K for the NAV unit, not the door. My guess is that Nissan won't budge and it would be too expensive to have an attorney look into this for you .

Good luck!

Fixing somthing 3 times in 2 years is Lemon Law in Texas. The factory would have to buy the car back.

I'm in Orange County, CA.

I soooo wish I could file lemon law for this......

I guess I'll have to keep taking it in and see what happens.

Thanks for the replies

I think you should remove the whole thing and part it out and then buy a new aftermarket unit

I'll buy the DVD player

Well, right now it's broken in the open position, so at least it works right now....just doesn't close, and based off of the replies I've seen this may be the best way to keep it!!!

They replaced the whole thing (door and motor) 3 times.

...........I also want to know how to keep the door open?????? (aside from it being broken open like mine, lol).

My door would always close whenever I turned my car off if the door was open......nothing I could do about it, and I thought it to be unneccesary anyway!!!!
