Default Problem with audio setup

My friend has a 2006 Civic and has the stock headunit with two 12'' Dual subs and a Kenwood amp (model KAC-7202). She said she was driving one day and her car would not accelerate anymore, the battery cut off and the car just stopped..

I suggested to her to either get a new headunit or a capacitor so that the battery wouldnt have to work as hard...

I dont know what exactly happened so if anyone might be able to help I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Could be many things... I have many bad experiences with alternators on one of my past cars and that sounds a lot like what happens when it dies...

Check the battery terminal connections? Maybe somethings loose from the amp install?
