I'm planning to build my own sub box and have been reading up on how to design them...so far it's been straight forward, but what I'm wondering is how does a non-symetrical sub box affect the sound?
I'm not set on the exact design of the box, but what I was thinking was to have the box lay down between the rear strut and rear speakers with a height just below the top of the 2 rear speakers (so if you're looking from the front of the car, you wouldn't see it). I was planning to put the sub facing upwards on the passenger side and then mounting the Amp (5 ch amp to power speakers + sub) onto the top the box on the driver's side.
would that be okay?
goals:
-make it myself
-somewhat hidden out of veiw
-decent sound (I'm not looking for anything crazy, but want it to sound nice)
thanks,
Peter

thanks guys!*looks like tomorrow I'll be picking up a sub/amp/speakers...too bad I've been working so much and am still moving into my house; doubt I'll start on this project for more than a month.
