Tweeter installation without modifying pods?
I want to mount my tweeters (JL Audio 650's) in the factory location without modifying the pods (so I can revert to stock).
a) is this possible, has anyone done this themselves sucessfully (obviously it won't be flush)
b) alternatively, can I (or how expensive is it to) source a pair of original pods from Nissan to modify them, keeping the originals safe.
c) source a pair of third party pods for the purpose of modification (as b)
Thanks for any advice!

The stock tweet's pull out of the factory mounting position. The JL Audio 650 tweeters are 1" but it looks like they've got a bit of a ring around the front making them a bit bigger. It shouldn't hurt to try to see if they'll drop in place.

Your suggesting I remove this ring around the JL tweeter to try to get it to fit...? Sounds hopefull... Has anyone attempted this?
Thanks for the suggestion Paul - I'll not have the opportunity to try this for a while, but it would be good to hear others attempts

You will have to remove the factory tweet and find something small enough to mount in its place. It shouldnt be too hard to reuse the factory bracket, but unless it sits flush against the factory mesh of the piece it connects to, your highs will be pretty muffled. If you sell the car leave the replacement tweets in. At that point how much can a pair of used tweets be worth to ya?
