Default to amp or not to amp???

just got some infinity 6010cs components and 6012i rears off ebay. i just wanted to replace the stock bose speakers because they sound like crap. and i've got the stock navi system too .

my question is should i add an amp when i do the install. i will be keeping the stock bose sub. i just want clear sound with smooth bass, not overwhelming where the next car can hear me. will the stock hu with the reference speakers be good enough or pull the trigger on the amp?

adding a amp will always create better sound quality i would no question its just all personal preference. Plus if your going to buy an amp make sure you choose a decent one that is more suitable to sound quality than just power, arc audio, zapco etc. That will make or break a system.

A good amp will make the most noticible difference in your system, next to loosing the stock Bose sub. You should definitly upgrade if you want any kind of volume with clarity.
