Default Bose HU and stereo, same in 2003 Maxima as in 350z?

I have this Nissan Maxima SE as my loaner car until my Z is brought down from another dealership, and it has what looks like the same Bose head unit. Can anyone tell me if the top of the line Bose system in the 2003 Maxima is the same as the 350z by chance? It sounds plenty good to me, and am curious how the Bose is going to sound in my Touring model. I just like good clear, decent range of sound, and if this Maxima is representative of the 350z, I think I'm going to be plenty happy.

Thanks for any light anyone can shed on this.

Rob,
Do a search on the Bose in this forum and you will see how good it sounds. Very few people in these forums have been happy with the Bose stereo in their 350Z Touring models...

I have a Touring and the Bose really suxx. I have redone my complete system, and there's nothing left in my Z that bears the bose/Clarion logo...

Search a little harder, and you will find loads of info on the Bose here...

I know all that, but I am thinking we have to many audiophiles here. I know a lot of people like all tin and all bass, and who have distorted perceptions of what sounds good (not saying people here). That's why I asked if the touring Bose was the same as the Maxima, because I find it tolerable, if not pretty decent.

Oh well, we'll see when I finally get to see a Touring with bose, not many of them around here.

I agree with ya, mine satisfies me more than enough, it could be better, but its fine how it is too, BEFORE the fix it was broken, end of story, that was no good, but once that was fixed its perfect.

whether its the same as the maxima, donno.

Thanks Ares, that was what I was basically looking for. I'm afraid my car has spoiled me though. I had the premium sound system in my 2k Eclipse GT and had only replaced the factory amp with a more powerful 4 channel amp. People assumed I had all new components, and a small sub, it really was phenomenal what that Infinity setup was capable of for a stock "premium" system.

I read another post in here where another Touring owner drove a Maxima for a few days and it had the Bose system in it. He said that there was a night and day difference between the 2 systems, and the Maxima actually sounded good with the Bose. Needless to say, he was disappointed with his Bose TOuring system, after he made a comparison to the Maxima's Bose system.

I tried to find the post, but couldn't find it...sorry.

Drat, I wonder if that was post-amp TSB? Hopefully whomever it was will respond. Thanks for the heads up.
