Anti-intuitively!

Push in, then remove finger ASAP, and it "Pops" out a bit, then pull.

I use it daily.

I hope you didn't mean removing the whole thing.....

Mine came out when my passenger hit it with his knee while getting in..... I am not sure of the technical way but you should email someone with the service CD and ask for that section....
