Door panels removed
Hey guys,
I searched this but couldnt find anything,,so if I am repeating anything I apologize up front.....I have my door panels off and going to raamat my doors today. Now that my panels are off,,I can see the black sub-panel,,,,I assume the window motor is behind that. When I remove the screws from that panel,,,,will anything fall out, window fall off track or anything? I was scared to remove the black panel,,for didnt know if anything would just fall out or fall off track? I hope this is the correct section/forums? Thank you for any insight or advice....

Don't take any of that panel off. Behind it is all of the stuff for the window track and you will never get it back to the way the factory had it. Plus it is not really necessary. What most of us do for deadening the outer door skin is to reach through the speaker hole with the speaker out and put the mat in through the hole that way. All you really need to do is behind the speaker. You will see the factory already put some matting on the lower part of the door all the way back. You can add on some if you want as far as you can reach too if you think it will help. When you put your mat over the black panel make sure you cut out some holes to line up with the holes in the panel and the stickers covering holes in the panel in case anybody ever needs to work on adjusting the window, etc. or you will be in trouble.
Hey Guys,,,thank you for your response....I finished my doors a bit ago. I ended up doing what you said,,,,I placed raamat through the speaker hole as far as I could reach. Then, just matted the black midpanel.....I did notch around the screws and such....As for the patches,,,,,I marked the mat with an exacto blade,,so if any adjustments were necessary, I would know where to trim out. Thanks a ton. Man, the doors are solid...I could not believe what a difference it made...I will start on the floor panels and driver/pass side firewall's tomorrow. As of now,,,I have the back/mid-rear speaker area and doors raamat'ed to hel and back. I cant imagine it getting any better with the floor's/firewall up front finished.....Oh, I also ordered the rest of my sound system today....I have my headunti now, Alpine W-200,,,running MB Quarts up front,,,Alpine 61/2's in rear...Alpine F250 4chan, Alpine M450 Mono (subamp) and the S series dual 4ohm 10's. All I need now is my Zenclosure from Mike......I know its not that much power,,but I am an 36yr. Accountant. I like all types of music,,just not as loud anymore,,,,Its just me....LOL

Good luck with the rest of it.
