Default Crossfire bmf-1228

Right now i have the crossfire p-1228, in a z enclosure box, with a kenwood amp, its around 1400 watts. Has anyone had any experince with the BMF-1228? I need something that will handle more power.

Its not 1400rms its like 1400 peak or so. I know i cant turn it up over halfway because it bottoms out the sub from too much power. Just wondering if anyone used the BMF series from crossfire. I had a jbl and it lasted about a day before the voice coil caught on fire. The crossfire has been going for about 8 months now with no problems and it sounds great. The amp is around 800rms if i remember right. I have always liked kenwood amps, never had a problem with any that i have owned. An old kenwood amp i sold to a friend is still going after 6 years heh with the same JL10.

the bmf is not a bad sub, but 800 watts might be pushing it a bit...

depdning on your budget, you can go with idmax, or cheaper an elemental designs 11ov.2, the idmax wil ltake your power no problem

16psibrick do those subs sound good with tight bass? I mostly listen too rock music and drum and bass type stuff, so no sloppy rap bass for me. I like the crossfire because its really responsive.

in most cases, sloppy bass is NOT the result of the sub itself, it is the result of poorly built or incorrectly sized enclosure, and poor tuning.

i would say almost ANY of the quality subs out there, when intalled and tuned right, can provide the kind of bass you want, some better than others but the IDmax is IMO one of hte best subs around, hence i run it in my own car...and the Ed is a great performer in its price range...so
