looking to change my sound system
Define your goal.
Define the requirements based on that goal - DVD, MP3, iPod, satellite, Hi-Def FM, P/S2 or Xbox 360, navigation, back-up camera, bluetooth, CD, cassette, 8-track ... and the list goes on.
Come up with a budget.
Come up with a time-line.
Get estimated installation fees.
Do some shopping around the brick and mortar stores and internet ones like woofersetc.com and crutchfield.com and narrow your choices down to a few and then come back here and seek an opinion on the quality and reliability of your choices.
Otherwise there's about 10 billion combinations of front speakers, rear speakers, subwoofers, enclosures, head-ends, processors, amplifiers .... and how in God's good name could anyone possible even begin to guess what YOU want?

What are your requirements? DVD/Navi? Purty lights? Are you looking to level small town with a deafening wall of sound, or do you want a Jaz combo on the dashboard?
Most importantly, what is your budget and are you going to pay somebody to install it?
