Default Can I add a touch screen to my kenwood?

I own a Kenwood Head Unit - DDX-8017 in my Z. It's great. It has numerous functions. DVD, CD, MP3, Navigation, TV Tuner, etc... Right now I am utilizing a Music Keg and I am thinking about adding the Navigation feature with the G510 which is the latest Navigation unit for Kenwood. Looks really good.

Question:

Since the Navigation function utilizes a touch screen, can I add a remote screen in the cubby box and utilize that exclusively for the navigation so that its running all the time?

If not, can I use the remote screen to display videos or movies?

I would like to know so I can have everything set up at the same time.

Thanks for your feedback.

The Kenwood LZ-702W will let you do exactly what you are looking to do. It is a 7 inch touchscreen that is made to work with the KNA-G510. It also has seperate video intputs so you can feed other video signals into it.

He does not want to run he Navigation off the DDX8017, he wants to run it off the seperate monitor in the cubby. Kind of like the OEM unit is. The DDX8017 will control the Navigation, but once you do it that way it will not display or function from another screen.

Yeah, exactly. If I can run Navigation independently that would be ideal. This way I can see what radio station is playing or what track on the music keg is active, etc... Plus it fills in the dead space of the cubby box.
I'll have to check out the screen you suggested.
Thanks for the info.

You can just get two Kenwood units that THE DUKE mentioned and run them on their own and you'll be good to go. That's what I'm going to do. I have the DDX-8017 and want the same as you do.
