well, I put in the polk sr6500 components in some door pods (pics later)....and they sound great, i really made an improvement in sound over the BA pro 60's. Now I'm ready for some rear fill, I heard that the speakers in the back have some kind of resister in them? I connected the stockers to the head unit because my amp is only 2 channel and I can barely hear them, will after market speakers and rewiring make a noticeable difference if I run the speakers off the headunit (kenwood ddx8017)???
The speakers just have a very high impedance. The stock rears run at 32 Ohms when most speakers run at 8, 4, or 2. So pretty much you are getting like 5 watts of power to those back speakers due to the high resistance. Get some aftermarket rears and youll be back in business, no need to rewire.
Exactly, just upgrade your rear speakers with some inexpensive coax's..use factory wiring and run off the headunit,,,you are good to go. Take those 32ohm rears and sling them like a freesbie....LOL
after rears will make a difference IMO. I replaced mine with Infinity Kappa 6 1/2's. All you might half to do is drill new mounting screw holes and dissasemble that pain in the @ss rear paneling.
