Default Subwoofer Upgrade For Bose

Is it possible to upgrade to another aftermarket subwoofer to replace the stock 10 inch subwoofer? I want a clean sounding sub but i also want it to hit much harder than stock but the most important thing is for it to fit in the stock enclosure in the car...what have you guys done? Any ideas? I would appreciate it

hit much harder
The area behind the seats is open meaning that you'll need a free air subwoofer - which don't "hit hard" in my experence. You'll need a closed volume or a ported enclosure at a minimum. A bandpass arrangement will "hit" even harder.
