Default SWI-ALP w Alpine on 05 Zs: anyone tried?

Yes, I have searched and apparently only a few have this combo but no one has given or suggested how to go about the wiring. The problem is that PAC say the SWI-ALP is only suitable for the 2006 Z. I have tried wiring the SWI-ALP with my Alpine HU but have only succeded partially: only a few functions are working (volume up and volume down but in the wrong place-other functions will not be programmed at all).

I think I have read somewhere that the wiring WILL work on a 05 as long as the Infinity G35 instructions are followed. Is this true? Also, anyone succeded in "mating" the SWI-ALP with an IVA-W200 on an 05 Z with stock steering wheel controls? I mean the controls suppied with the stock HU on the LHS of the steering wheel (which we get as standard on EU models BTW). Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

I have an 03 model EU Zed with stock steering wheel controls, an d have wired a PAC SWI-ALP into my W200Ri. I have volume up/down, next and previous track, mute and mode shift all working.
