Hey guys, I'm a newbie so please bare with me. If I setup my amp to work at 2Ohms, will it be be OK if my speakers (seperates and subs) are 4Ohm speakers. I know this is a amature question. But please educate me.

umm i dont know what u mean.

amps usually have specs on the ohm load they can handle.

the lower the ohm load, the more current pulled from the amp = more heat




if your amp is 2 ohm stable, 4 ohm speakers will be fine


if your amp is only 4 ohm stable, 2 ohm speaker load will overheat the amp and either fry it or keep turning it off(protection)
