did the resistor thing... double-bent the wire--it couldn't be any snugger in the connector... but now the bass cuts in and out intermittently... seems to happen on songs with heavy bass... it's not a gradual thing like before the resistor mod, instead it *pops* on and off... Once again, the resistor is tight in the connector...

I'm using a 1K resistor as suggested.... do i need a bigger one?
