Anybody know much about modding the xbox, i just caught the tail end of a screen savers episode they were talking about modding the x-box, they had a 120 gig hard drive in it, and played mp3's and videos with it. as well as playing dvds seem like a good in car option, anyone know how hard it is to do this??

Most of the topics (recap) on the shows are posted on their website if you missed it.

Don't think it's tough, but does require some tech know-how.

I modded mine about a year ago and used it to play divx and avis on my HDTV. I had it setup to stream the movies from my desktop over ethernet. The matrix mod is what I was using at the time. I think there are some newer solder less chips as well. All I had to do was flash the chip, then screw the chip on and load some software on the drive. Very cheap HDPC

Xbox Mod
Yes, I pretty much know everything there is to know about modding since I do almost full time. I do PS2, PSX, and of course the Xbox. Email me with your questions. Later...........

Mine's modded. Executor2 chip is the way to go. Using the slayer auto-install to load everything onto a new hard drive is ultra easy. This is just an easy installer for a dashboard and all the apps you'll need to get started.
