Default Sony Hu installed, perfect match!

Hey Guys,

Just got this Sony cdx ca810x head unit and an XM tuner. I ditched the crap stock speakers and got some infinitys too. I love XM, I HIGHLY reccommend it. I dig my new speakers too. they are a vast improvement!
Next is a woofer mounted in the stock sub compartement. I am paying someone 300 to do a 'fiberglass' enclosure. Do you guys think this is a good price? He says he is hookin me up.
Any way, I put this pic up for those of you who dont like the idea of messing up the cockpit aesthetic continuity. The deck colors match the cabin trim perfectly!
The screen changes colors, but not to orange the closest it gets to matching the dash lites is red. i like the lite blue color pictured here over the red so that is how its staying. What do you guys think?
If this aint enough, my Borla gets installed tommorrow! Pics to appear in the engine mods forum soon!
Take care guys!

I just got my harness and install kit from Crutchfield. I also bought the Sony MP80 with the 10 disc changer through ebay and pcRush.com. I should be getting everything before next weekend.

joust 75, Install looks great. The "problem" with getting the borla exhaust is that you'll never turn on your new system because I'm sure you'll love the sound of the exhaust so much that you'll find yourself over revving and driving with the windows down just so that you can listen to the "music" from the Borla's...

hey joust, quick question about the XM, since you recommend it so highly.

Do you get a station called "Phishcast!"? I get in on my macintosh as one of the internet radio stations and if Phishcast was available, i would get it right now. I love to just turn Phishcast on and let it run 24 hours a day. I'm not up on XM, so i don't know if internet radio stations compare to XM stations.

HA HA ,
That is exactly what I have been doing. It wont sound its best until it breaks in but I still do have XM off half the time!

BTW I dont remember the type of HArness I used, but I think it started with an M. It is a pretty mainstream company because the specs on the harness said Nissan 1998 and up. also I remember the dash kit was made by the same company.

Yo Goose...
No Phishcast, however there is a station called "fish" (Christian rock)
My point is they have every Genre of music, and for the most part, multiple channels for every genre. They do not have channels devoted entirely to one band (Phishcast = Phish?) but it is fresh stuff and the playlists are well laid out. Sometimes I find myself listening to 7 songs in a row I like! Check outwww.xmradio.com You can hear samples of what they play on individual channels!

Yours fit looks fine. Sony's fine and blue is fine. In fact fit looks same as mine. The only thing in my ar that says it is not stock by a physical look. Hearing sound is a different story. Probably metra kit on yours too. head unit is just personal choice. Don't know if alpine is better than sony. just know I like the way alpine functions, sounds and looks and so I bought it. that is all that should matter to you. You must have liked it when you bought it. I am sure it is fine. If it functions and sounds the way you wanted, great. there is better out there than either alpine or sony I am sure. but who cares if we are happy with HU/SYSTEM. I know I am. Enjoy!
