Hey, Anyone2u or any of the many other Alpine TME-m760 screen owners . . . . how did your installer bypass the parking break security with this screen?

theres a wire that comes with the unit, you just install that and it should bypass it...they give you directions with the wire...

hmmmI had mine installed months ago....

Do I need a new wire?

I heard that you can simply send the wire to the brake to ground instead.

The parking break wire can be hooked to ground. The Alpines that you have to hit the foot brake you can hook the Alpines park brake wire to a switch hooked to ground, and hook the foot brake wire up normal. Press the foot brake, then hit your switch on off on, and the screen will stay on until the car is cut off or until you hit the switch off.

Default Ground

My poineer just needed and "ground". Supposed to be on the parking brake, but it does not know the difference...

Parking brake "up", ground is closed, screen works.
Parking brake "down", ground is open, screen no workie...

Always grounded, ground is closed, screen always works.

Cheers

Most Alpines are a little harder than that. They hook to the foot brake, and park brake to make it a little harder to get around. I think perifal actually makes a piece were you dont have to go through the trouble w/ a switch, and all, but its just as easy to do it the way I said.

Yeah, this is how it works with the Pioneer, Kenwood, and many other screens, but not with this Alpine one, it seems.
