Lightbulb Speaker assitance - searched like crazy

Before I get mauled, I have search extensively and nothing.... just hit and miss..

I am looking to improve on the Bose System by replacing speakers and headunit.

I have installed a Panasonic touchscreen headunit, which I love by the way, and have not touched the speakers; yet.

I purchased the PAC - AOEM1 interface, installed and got no sound what so ever, then I just used the metra harness and everything has been fine.

The thing I am looking to avoid is running new speaker wire and installing a new amp I have had sound systems before in the past and I'm just looking for clean sound, nothing more.

Can I replace the stock components in the front with a set of Kappas or CDTs etc. stock sets, mid range for rear fill, keep the factory amps, panasonic headunit and improve the sound quality?

I am aware of the varying ohm ratings of the items I have in mind, but can someone please give me a bit more insight?

Thanks again to everyone with constructive comments and assistance.

if an improvement is truly what you want, i suggest going from the panasonic headunit to an aftermarket amp to a set of aftermarket speakres...

keeping hte bose amp IMO is not the way to go, bypassing it and running new speakers just off the panasonic headunit, is not going to yield much, if any improvement either

I figured that the Bose amps would be the weak link in my quest for a simple install with clean sound. Honestly, it doesn't sound terrible, but I know the improvements which are possible. Being in the industry and all, what amp would you suggest that would yeild clean sound to a set of components in the front in their stock locations (91+ db signal response) and a set of midrange speakers to fill in the rest? If I go this route, I'll get rid of the stock sub all together and not replace it; never been a big fan of bass. I want something small and easily concealable; not looking for anything fancy.

I still don't feel that an outboard amp is necessary, as the HU's internal may suffice for what I want (simple clean sound... not played at very high volumes) I believe that my current hu yields a good 20 watts rms; more than enough for what I want.

Installs such as these can start off simple and bridge well into the $1,000's; been there, done that.
