Default Problems with Bose CD player

I have an 05 with the BOSE 6-disc system in it and have been having nothing but problems with my CD player reading CDs.

Basically, the player skips. And not all the time. Randomly it will decide not to be able to read a disc well that it's read for months. Others will never work in the player or work up to a certain point before it begins skipping.

New CDs, burnt CDs, CDs that work in every other player in the world. Doesn't matter.

I know what you're thinking. Clean the damn thing. I have, repeatedly. It makes no difference. The car only has 10K on it. It's not that old.

Does anyone else have this problem with their BOSE system? Is it just me? I'd like to use it as an excuse to invest in the Alpine I want but we're in the process of buying a house and dumping $900 on a stereo just ain't in the budget.

Great, so do we have a fix?

Are they getting them replaced? Are they getting any help from the dealerships? Any idea?

I bought a used non-Bose CD and I've had no problems what so ever. I'm not sure it will work with the Bose system plug and play.

I replaced all speakers and bought an amp and a sub.

I think a few people have had the CD replaced under warranty but only to have the issue come back. This might be your excuse to buy that Alpine.

I got my Bose head unit replaced 2 times because the 6th disc keeps getting stuck. Now I just don't load the 6th disc. My sub also cuts in and out as well. Bose sucks!
