Default Kenwood ddx6019 vs Panasonic 6503

GUys, I am about to put a D-DIN in my car, and I need some advise as I know so so little about audio and video. First I dont need a nav, I just want the lcd to play DVDs and some musics. I was looking at some other thread while I did my research, they says that the stock bose amp is not powerful enough? I just want to know if I can just swap the HU and having the same music quality as stock? Also would you suggest Kenwood or Panasonic? I want to purchase it through ebay since they have the best price...did anyone bought from ebay? Any issue? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone first post also live in Richmond Hill just got my 03 cs about a month now i have the ddx7015 i had the dealers install it for me they offered to swap it out of my honda to make the deal faster anyway it sounds like crap with stock speakers barely audible i think the installer added sometime though because when i had the kickers rs installed they sounded like crap too untill the new installer ran new wire direct from deck to speakers now they sound great no amp needed.

Sorry you misunderstood me what had happened was when i went to pick up my car at the dealership the saleman told me his installer needed an extra part to install my aftermartket deck to factor speaker(2 ohms) i figured from reading in one of the 350z forums it's so the speakers won't sound like crap it worked but they where not to load, factory sub also clipped when added bass.
So when i finally trusted an install shop to do the job i wanted doors 6.5 kickers
cutom box behind seats and before strut 10' jl pounds anyway they ran the doors from the stock wires i think by doing so the part the dealer added got missed so the speakers where play at a third of it's power by this time it was closing time before the long weekend so we agreed to leave it until after that.
What they did was run new wires to bypass what was added to make my 7015 work with factory system.
Hope that was more clear (350 tech forum) i think tells you how you can mix and match your system it's called Aftermarket HU + Bose amp wiring question
in the Audio & Electronics section .
Hope that helped.

I swapped my HU first and left stock speakers. It sounded way better than the stock HU. Later I switched my speakers and added 2 amps. So to answer your question, switching HU will make an improvement. As far as brands go, its really your call, but I think the new Kenwoods are pretty nice. Especially if you plan on running a video ipod to it. my.02

Watch out for referbished stuff on ebay. Sometimes saving a few bucks isn't worth the headache. Try this site: http://www.woofersetc.com/
