I basically want a nice double din. With good ipod functionality and nice screen for movies, and probably some future functionality (No idea what I may need in the future), haha.

 

I have the W-200 Alpine and love it.

 

Hmm...if it were up to me, I would only do this once. I'd suggest the 8019 or W205 or DNX7100.

 

well I can get either from a local retailer "at cost" and thats all they have as far as double dins go.

 

I agree, I have the Alpine 200, but the 205 or Kenwood 8019 all in one functionality is worth the extra couple hundred.

 

When is the W-205 suppose to be available? I think the biggest different with between the 200 and the 205 is the built in dock for the Blackbird (Nav).

I have the W-200, blackbird, and the docking station,,,just plug the INET cable into the W200 and you have Nav on the W200 screen. Plus, this way, you have options as to where you want to mount the docking station and less to go wrong with motors, electronics, ect. ect. You will also be able to pick up a W-200 at a really low price. Actually, for what all this headunit does,,I am suprised they are priced as low as they are now.

Again,,,just my opinion,,,sure the W-205 will be an awesome unit,,,but to me,,not worth the "new released" price,,and let a year go by to see if there are any bugs with the the additions to the headunit.

 

The 205 is supposed to have a better IPod connection as well. I was told that it will be out for sale next month.

 

I didnt know about the new Ipod connection for the W-205?....Although, I cant imagine how it could get much better. My W-200, you plug the ipod cable into back of headunit,,,plug the other end into the Ipod,,,,direct connection, fast, easy to navigate and charges the Ipod as well. But, if there are many changes that are better,,,,I might need to sell my W-200 and get the W-205....<wink>

 

hey if you can beet the at cost price which is 6 bones you got a deal, haha. Anyway are there any big diff between bot, and which has better ipod connectivity.

 

Kenwood over the alpine for me, the nav add on is so much better, as is the bluetooth!
