Default Need some help with my AVIC N2

Whats up folks,

I tried searching but couldn't find the answer to my problem. I just got a avic N2 and wanted to install it myself. So I bought the dash kit, the wiring harness but was wondering about one last thing. The iPOD interface adapter has limitations with the N2. I asked pioneer and they said I won't be able to change tracks with it. What should I do? Just get it and change tracks with the ipod?

My second question is how do I bypass the dvd thing so I can watch it while driving?

My last question and I know everyone is already sick of me. How hard is the install if I do it myself. Any tough situations I should look out for?

Thanks

Thanks
Word.

I run my iPod using play lists. I often find that driving requires me to keep my eyes on the road as all kinds of dumb drivers are dialing their cell phones, watching DVD's, or fiddling with their iPods and this causes them to drift from their lanes or run red lights. My iPod sits in my center console cubby and has a cable long enough to sit in a cup holder mounted where the ash tray goes. I haven't been using my iPod much as the 6-disc CD player sounds way better than the MP3 compressed music.

To violate the law to view DVD's while the car is in motion requires you to soldier across two terminals on the circuit board. Don't drift into my lane and hit me ... I'm a big guy and get ticked off easy.

I installed custom car stereos from age 16 to 21. I did my own speakers, wires, AVIC D2, microphone, 6-disc player, V1, two amplifiers, subwoofers, and back-up camera. It was a tough 8-10 hour job. About 3 hours was spent taking the car apart to run sound proofing over every thing aft of the seats.

If you can read a sematic and soldier a bit you'll be able to do this job yourself ... but you might make a few mistakes which could cause damage to the radio or the car so be advised.

If you get stuck you can always come here and ask for help.

Good luck.

+1 to what Paul350Z said,,,,this website has been awesome when doing anything to my Z. Although I installed car stereos for many years before and through college, I was nervous about taking my Baby ( 06Z ) apart. But, I started reading here,,,did a lot of SEARCHING and finally felt like I could attempt it.

Again, if you run into anything, we all are right here and willing to help/guide you.

Good luck and let us know how its going.

Thanks for the info Paul,

I didn't want to bypass the dvd thing so I can watch it, it's for the passenger but I can tell this isn't going to be easy.

Would you be interested in installing it if I remove some of the dash pieces? I will pay you for your labor. Let me know if you would have time or the patience to tackle this thing.

Thanks guys...
