Roadster Rear Speaker Removal

The Roadster is more tricky than the coupe to take out the rear speakers. You have to take apart the rollbar covers. Nissan in their infinate wisdom made the covers for the rollbars disposable. According to the manuel it shoes an X by the rollbar covers, which means these items are destroyed after taken apart. I took mine apart last night, and I was able to get them apart with only breaking one piece. The trick is to use a long screwdriver and try to seperate the pieces from under neath (inside the covers). The clips from the front cover are male and the back cover are female. The male clips have a locking clip that is facing down. If you push up on the clip, you can manage to romove the covers without breaking the clips.

With this Disposable rollbar cover, It is a good thing that Nissan put such a wonderful stereo in our cars so we don't have to worry about replacement. I hope the future models they actaully upgrade the Stereo even futher by putting in Jenson.

350x factory radio wiring diagram

I replaced the factory speakers fron and rear with Polk Momo coax in the rear and Polk Momo separates in the front. I've added a Polk Momo 300.2 amp under the passenger seat. I've run rca's and speaker wire from the amp up to the radio. I ran 4 guage wire from the battery to the amp and graounded the amp to a bolt on the passenger side of the car. Now I need to know which wires to cut an splice for the fron speakers. I've looked on the web and on this site but can't find the needed information. Does anyone know which wires I'm needing to use? I also need to hookup the amps remote wire.

Thanks,

Mark Matthews

The How-to on the center dash is very detailed but it is on a car with no OEM Nav. Does anyone have any help for us that do have OEM nav and need to take the denter console off?

It's not as easy as someone said to pull on the navigation button faceplate and it will pop out. The Stock navigation faceplate looks to be one piece.

Um, nevermind, I read the service manual and did what they said to do. get two flathead screwdriver, tape them up(as not to scratch the panels). Make sure one is big and the other one is a small flathead so you can fit it into the cracks.

1. Insert the smaller screwdriver wrapped with tape into the center square hole for the cluster lid D pawl. Bend cluster lid D backwardto create a front/back gap.

2. Insert another tapped screwdriver into the gap that step number 1 made and start to careful pry.

See below for pictures, hope this helps people who are in my situation.

Does anyone know how to disassemble the door panels on an '06 Z Coupe? Everything I've seen has a different driver's side door panel and a different center console than mine.

not really to hard - you'll need to tap into the ECU's rpm signal (off one of the cylinders) and then get power (from HU or cig lighter)...then it's just finding a place to mount it. (I might do this install in the next few months...if I do, I'll post photos)
