Default What is the bypass for the Avic Z1/Z2

Can anyone tell me what exactly the bypass is used for on the Avic Z1 and Z2...if I'm not mistaken I don't think there's a bypass for the Z2 yet. Does the bypass mean that you can watch dvd's while driving or am i missing something else?
