The rear attachment (double humps) are easy to pop out if you do it from inside the cabin instead of from the rear hatch. Just get a good hold, left of the driver side rear speaker, and pull up. The whole piece will pop right off with amazing ease. I was really surprised since I was expecting it to be a pain after reading this how-to.

Default Alpareds Thread

I just wanted to comment on the following statement from Scafremon on the Xenarc screen install:

The touch screen is an 1/8" thick piece of glass, with a paper border on the side that touches the screen. I could not find an adhesive that would hold this paper to the screen. Well, I tried 3 anyway, the last being superglue. No luck.

The "paper border" can be peeled off to reveal a super strong adhesive which will allow you to mount the touch screen to the VGA screen. This works much better than double sided tape. I noticed the touch screen has better response, probably because the double sided tape creates a gap between the screens.

Holy cow, I was surprised to see my old thread has returned from the grave. Kame, thanks for the input on pulling the double hump. Thankfully, (or not), I haven't had any reason to take it apart again lately, but I'll try your way if I do.

Supra Crazy - yes, it's pretty dirty in there. It's cleaner now. Armor-all is a big no-no though. It works okay on some of the flatter parts, but it's terrible on the door panels, it becomes very blotchy.

SeanRod, I think you posted in the wrong thread.

Actually I was just giving some advice to Emire on his LCD question earlier in this thread. You are right though it probably needs to go on another thread as well.

Default FYI Rear Speaker alignment

FYI, I changed my rear speaker grilles, and found out that the rear speakers are not lined up with the grille (neither are the fronts actually). They mount about an inch lower than the grill itself and are slightly off center, so, staying with the factory opaque grille isn't bad.

You might be able to barely mount a separate tweeter in that extra inch though.

I'm not meaning to sound like a know-it-all, but, I didn't do nearly as much as you did. I found that I could just kind of pull the panel with the glove box forward, just enough to allow me to pop the sound bar panel loose, after removing the two storage compartments that were attached to it, and fold it back. it took all of 40 minutes for a complete install of both speakers with dynamat.
