Default Fiber Optic Cable / Wire...any chance one of you

guys have any extra lengths laying around the house or garage? I need to use it so I can extend the remote sensor for my LCD b/c when its fitted in the dash the eye ends up being covered and cant avoid it

I've been looking around local and even on-line but haven't had any luck with just being able to buy a small length. Everyone wants a minimum order and I cant see spending that much when I only need and will end up using less than a foot of it.

So hoping I could be a bum and ask anyone if they have some extra, I'll buy it from you if so!

try asking for a sample from those companies you looked at. like a foot or so. The other alternative is to go buy a optical cable for digital audio on dvd players.

Default Fiber optic cable

I have plenty of leftover fiber cable i can part with. If i read your problem right, where as you just need to extend the IR reciever to a more visible location, there is an easier way, a few actually. The first requires a bit of electronics know-how. This envolves opening the display unit, locating the IR reciever ( small black housing with integrated lense and three wires comming out of it. simply un solder the component add (3) wires and extend it to where it is in usable view of the remote. The other method would be to use an IR extender, typically you can find these at a home stereo shop. mount the reciever where it is visable, then point the emitter tword the Ir reciever in the monitor ( which i s located out of sight behind ther dash. Hope this helps.
