Hi,

Does anyone know of a good stereo shop within about an hour of North Jersey??? I want to replace my Bose but don't want to buy the stuff without listening first!!

Thanks. Andy

Sorry, it's been a while since I've been there. It's in Kenall park.

Back around 97ish: I had 4 MB Quart Components up front, 2 Coaxls in the rear, 2 JL 15W1 subs in the back, Xtant and Rockford Fosgate amps pushing well into the 1000 Watt range (I honestly forget), stinger bass cap, all run through a Clarion head unit..... In a low rider Amigo! I won the Truck Show in Englishtown for my class with the help of these guys. Wish I had a scanner. Oh well....

Thanks. I lived in Kendal Park when I got out of college. I'll look these guys up soon.

I had a great night tonight just cruising. Anyone in NJ, or the area, knows what the weather has been like here (C-O-L-D and wet!). I was doing some laps of the neighboring towns and I ran past a Black Z a couple times. It was awesome to see another on the road (this car looks sweet when you see it coming toward you). And That dude was just out doing the same thing I was...enjoying a great night in an awesome car! Now I just need to get the stereo up to snuff.

I had my system done at Sound City in Denville. It's on Rt 10 right near "downtown" Denville.

They have a pretty decent selection, and the prices aren't bad. I already had both amps, a HU, and the sub (no box). I bought the front and rear speaker replacements and sub box from them. Installation for it all took most of a day. For the speakers, hardware, box, and installation it ran me about 700 bux.

Thanks everyone for the input. I think I will take a look at the two in North Jersey. I really can't stand the stock stereo anymore. Everytime I have a song on I like, I keep turning up the volume trying to get some punch and it just gets raunchier (sp?) with the same flat image.

I did take a look at the place in Kendall Park and they seemed pretty cool. They also had most of the stuff I was looking for too. But the prices sent me away dejected. They basically wanted something close to list (it seemed), plus 2 days and several hundred for the instal. That may be a good deal or a bad deal, but either way, I couldn't warm up to it. I figured I was going to have to try to do it myself, with internet puchased components.

Thanks again. I'll let you know how I make out once I figure out what I want to do.

Went to Sound City. They are on rt 46. not rt. 10, but I found them after a few phone calls. Not too bad looking. Didn't have time to check the other place on 46. Maybe it is the same place!?

They had all the right brands and the prices didn't seem too bad. I want to check around the net a little now though to see exactly what kind of a deal they offered me.

I saw that Porsche. It was cool. But no offense, 6th Ave is like Circuit City, but with a bad Better Business Bureau rating.

I only went in there because I was hoping to see a couple of screens side-by-side. But they didn't really have anything.
