Default Bose speaker (behind driver-not sub) going in and out

I tried a search on this and couldn't find anything that related to my situation. So I'm sorry if this has been covered numerous times.

I just got my Z this past weekend so I don't have much experience with Bose. Here's the problem. The back speaker behind me is going in and out on bumps and acceleration and stops. Sometimes it will stay on for a good minute or two and then I'll take a corner hard and it will go out. Is this a common occurence? Give me your advice. If it involves removing the speaker you're going to have to tell me how to get to the bottom screws because I tried it. Thanks in advance...

This is a fairly common problem. Normally I tell people to check the connections on the amplifier and the subwoofer and they never come back so something is working. The tiny little amplifier is mounted to the inboard of the subwoofer.

You do a ton of work to pull the rear out to get the the speaker. You have to remove the passenger side cubby, both rear sides over the hump, and then the whole plastic piece that runs the width of the cubby-speaker distance. That exposes a steel plate held in place with 8-10 10 mm bolts that the subwoofer itself is mounted into. The pieces pop out and it's a PITA to get them out correctly and put in again - lookout for missing metal clips.

Sounds like I'll just wait until I have new speakers professionally installed in place of this blose unit. I just wanted to fix it for the next month or two. Thanks for the post
