Default JL Sub ?

Dropped my car off Sat @ shop to get my first round of stereo upgrades. Diamond Audio S600s powered by Jl 300/2 and a pair of JL Audio 8w3v2's in custom box under strut bar powered by 250/1. They call me that evening saying that they are out of the 8w3's but that my box is big enough for a 10w3v2. I haven't heard much about this speaker....seems like most people are going with the 10w6v2.

My question is anyone running the 10w6v2 off of a JL 250/1 amp? The recommended continuous power range chart published in JL Audio's catalog shows that optimum performance levels are @ about 350-400 watts. Don't have enough cash to upgrade to both the w6 and the 500/1 amp. Since I'm not into 'thumping till the break of dawn' maybe the 10w3v2 will be enough? Still kinda feel like my original plan of the two 8w3v2's off the 250/1 would be my best bet.
