Do I need to remove the entire rear cover to get to the lighter wires? I am trying to connect my REM wire to the wire but I am terrified that I have to take the entire rear cover off to do so.

It looks like I can pop out the light from the front.

Does anyone know if I can do this or am I f#cked!

I just took the whole back end off to install my stereo and the lighter comes off fine after that. It only took five minutes of pulling off plastic panels, so its not that much of a hassle.

 

whoooa wait!!!!....... just pop out the two rear compartments and look in the back of the recess and youll see the wire that leads down to the lighter (use the red wire of the two)...............i did it without removing anything....tap into it and there you have it.....a remote turn on....
