Question Antenna Adapter Cable Kit

I found a local store today where I picked up my Metra Dash Kit, wiring harness, and some 10 gauge wire (for Alpine's V-Drive internal amp) and while I was paying, they all told me I was going to need an antenna adapter cable kit. Now, I don't recall that ever being mentioned here, but I thought to myself that I might have missed it along the way, so I went ahead and picked it up. Is this necessary.....do we need an adapter to plug the factory antenna into a new H/U?

Thanks for the help!

you won't need an antenna adapter. Only most older nissans.

Yeah, I just installed my Alpine CDA-9815 yesterday and the car's antenna connector plugs straight into the connector attached to the HU.

THis is why I hate Mom and Pop stereo shops....they don't know jack sh*t, and they try and sell you stuff you don't need to make a quick buck. And, of course, on the receipt it says "all sales are final, no refunds, store credit only."

Dickbags!

Thanks for the help, fellas.

I don't believe that Mom and pop stereo shops are like that at all. If anything I believe that most chain stores are like that. Circuit city and Best buy to name a few. I currently work for a single location stereo shop and have worked for a couple others. I've also worked for Circuit city. The problem with most chain stores is that you usually deal with a sales person that never works on cars and really doesn't know what all it takes. With smaller shops, usually the sales person is knowlegeable on the installation side as well. Just use your best judgement when purchasing anything.
