Default Pictures of my amp/sub..

Nothing spectacular, but it sounds great (IMHO). The sub is underneath the carpet in the rear (where the spare was) and the amp is underneath the passenger seat. You really can't tell from outside the car that I even have a sub (and that's the way I'd prefer it.. I like to listen to my music loud, but the city I live in has a sound ordinance). On the inside, it's the exact opposite. Just adding that 10" was all I will ever want as far as bass goes in the Z.

Next will be the component speakers, but I am not sure what I should go with. Any suggestions, guys?

Oh yea.. pics (dial-up users beware):

So I'll assume you guys don't know anything about what component speakers might sound good with this setup?

I don't think that's the problem, I just think that your question may be too broad. Everyone's musical taste (ie rap, techno, polka, etc.) differ, as does everyone's idea of what "sounds" good. In addition cost is a factor. I like Boston Acoustics Z6s, as do a couple of other people on this board, but with a list price of ~$1000 they may not be for you.

This question has also been asked (and answered) quite a few times so you may find the Forum Search button helpful. There have been a number of excellent posts regarding the upgrade. Good luck and welcome to the board!

By the way, thanks for sharing pictures of your system. Do you happen to have any additional pictures? Thanks.

Thanks for an insightful post--just what I was looking for.

Personally, I listen to a lot of music that demands a good speaker for high/mid-range frequencies (mostly rock music [Creed, Godsmack, Puddle of Mudd, System of a Down, etc.]).

So going from that, I think the system in my car at the moment sounds "decent." At first, the bass was overwhelming when listening to R&B or rap music, but adjusting the audio controls helped that quite a bit. So I'm thinking some components up front would provide for a very nice balance.. just don't know what to go with. I'll probably be looking into brands such as Boston, MB Quart, Diamond, etc..

I've searched a little already (and try to whenever I'm looking for something inparticular).. just thought I would post my own topic so I could get some replies that would be a little more specific to my setup.

Regarding pictures, I don't have any more of the system (although I'm willing to go take any upon request.. not that hard to walk up to the garage).. just a ton of the car itself. If you can't tell, I'm kind of big on taking pictures.. here's the link. Enjoy.

Again, thanks for the reply.
