No display/video on LCD...!
I just installed a new stereo with dvd capability. Also installed the OEM PAC 1 to keep the stock speakers and subwoofers. Soundwise, it all works... except for the radio having crazy bad reception... (what does the "power antenna" cable do? i left it not connected to anything...).
Anyhow, the LCD screen (6.5" Sony XVM-H65) does not show me video when playing a DVD cd on the stereo/dvd unit.
All cables etc are hooked up. And the LCD itself can be powered on and off and choose Video channel (1,2 and 3 in Pal mode).
I'm using a normal single yellow rca/video cable for the video signal from the stereo to the lcd controller unit.
Anyone came across the same issue during an install and found out what could be causing it? I have double checked all cables and connections but I don't find anything that could be faulty.
Does the stereo/dvd unit have to enable the video output stream somehow? I have a pretty simple JVC unit.

You need to plug the antenna back into the headunit. The antenna is a black wire with a long silver tip, that explains the poor reception. Not sure about your specific head unit, but there should be rca jacks for OUTPUT, sounds like you may have accidentally wired it into an input.
You need to connect the power antenna wire to the trunk mounted FM amplifier. There's a small amplifier sitting just under the antenna that boosts the signal, it's likely not getting power and therefore the poor reception.
Does the LCD screen work it you've got the car stopped and put the parking brake on? Try pulling the brake up, then down, then up again - that's the way my Pioneer works. The installer might have connected the parking brake detector - we do that here in the US to prevent people from watching TV instead of the road. There are lots of ways to bypass that safety switch.
PS: Your English and spelling are better than most of the US posters here.

I got the LCD to work! Yay!.. =) the video cable between the LCD and the controller unit was pulled out of its socked during install. Doh... made it stick good and it "fired" right up. hehe
Paul350Z, thanks! I've lived in California for over a year... mostly around Oceanside but have of course passed Temecula and Riverside from time to time. Bought a motorcycle first thing I did. I rode around on it a lot. Problem was that I came to the US on a simple tourist visa and didn't have a clue about how to become a legal citizien. I did everything wrong. I was eventually "caught" and got a 10 year deportation ... sucks.. I want back so bad to visit friends and such. But I just can't find a lawyer that believes in my case or simply can help me get back even as a normal tourist again with absolutely no intention of overstaying again.
Take this post as a shout out to anyone out there that might have connections with immigration lawyers... that can help me rid my deportation status.
