Default Antenna question

I want to install a FM modulator (not the wireless type) so that I can use my PDA/MP3 player to listen to music on the Bose system. I have seen that some people tap into the antenna behind the radio (which requires removing part of the dash). Is there a way to tap into the antenna in the back of the car or anywhere else?

if your generally looking for the antenna wire, it runs through the trunk. pull up all the flooring in the trunk and you should see a wire on the drivers side if I remember correctly.

I dont know anything about the FM modulator and all that, but that is the antenna wire...

Speaking of antennas... about 2 days after I got my Z someone in my apt complex decided to be funny and snapped my antenna in half while it was parked in front of my building.

I replaced it with a altezza jdm one from an IS300 (about 35 bucks shipped off of eBay) and like it much better than the stock one. Its about 3/8 inch in diameter, and 7-8 inches long. Also, it doesnt wiggle around while Im on the highway, so I dont keep catching glimpses of it in my sideview.

The radio reception has, if anything, increased, and Id highly recommend taking a look at this option for anyone who's dissatisfied with the crappy look of the stock antenna on the Z...

I think your best option is behind the stereo, as you will also need to connect the modulator to a power source. There is also an on/off switch that is connected to the modulator, which you will want to have accessible to you in the drivers seat. There are some modulators that do not require an on/off switch, as they simply turn 'on' when they sense that the source is playing. Seems convenient at first, but if your stereo isn't tuned to the correct station for the modulator, you won't get the result you want.

Getting to the back of the stereo to connect the modulator is really very simple.
