blasting music
Isn't a sports car a mobile entertainment center? You get your entertainment from acceleration, speed, tossing it around corners, and braking. I mean, if it were stationary, it wouldn't be very entertaining, thus the need to be mobile.

Aftermarket head unit + front mids + rear 6x9s should be the only stereo mods you would need. Having a sub in a sports car is beyond stupid to me. Between the weight of the sub, amp, and the heavier gauge wiring, its not worth it.
The stock speakers are worse than my Casio clock radio from 1985. Even my stock '05 Xterra has better speakers, and that's supposed to be a more "rugged" ride.
I really don't know how anyone could be satisfied with the stock speakers. Then again, I have an hour commute each way to work every day, so the stereo might be more important to me than others.

Lol @ everyone who says sound systems in sports cars, especially a Z, are useless.
I guess I am the only one who sits in traffic on a daily basis or doesn't do 100mph down residential streets on the way to the supermarket.
Not everyone acts like they are Fernando Alonso everytime they get behind the wheel of a sports car and if you do then your a turd. There are way more oppurtunities to enjoy a good stereo system than there are oppurtunities to enjoy the "sports car" characteristics of your Z on a daily basis.
To the OP: Yes the stock stereo sucks.

Amen to that.... I am in my car at least and hour and a half each day and a nice sound system is a MUST for me
