Online Car Stereo
I had a terrible, terrible buying experience with OnlineCarStereo, and would never order nor reccommend anybody purchasing anything from them.
I used to have an 89 Civic and I bought a 4-channel Amplifier from OCS.com (Alpine MRP-F320, if anybody cares). Placed the order, waited for the shipping notice in my e-mail... nothing. Called their customer service after a week, number was either always busy or rang eternally.
Finally got ahold of them 3 weeks after the order; it turns out that since my billing address and shipping address were different, so they put my shipment on hold indefinately, despite the fact that I had already PAID IN FULL for my purchase. Funny, how this causes a problem, because on their website they provide 2 DIFFERENT AREAS FOR SHIPPING AND BILLING INFORMATION.
Long story short, finally got the amp 6 weeks after I ordered, and it doesn't work. Sent it back (I had to pay shipping), took them another month to 'test it out' and determine that it was Alpine's fault, so they sent it to them. Alpine had it for a while, sent a completely new unit to OCS, who sent it back to me.
All in all, a very very annoying pain in the *** experience. Buying technological gear over the Internet has always scared me, and this severely pissed me off. Only place I buy from any more is Crutchfield. They do cost more, but they have the best customer service you can possibly hope for.
