I would only look at the Valentine V1, Passport 8500 or 9500 if you want the GPS feature, or the Beltronics BEL RX65.

What's a radar jammer? Laser shifter, yes... but radar jammer? Please share.

OP: Remote system: Passport SRX FTW.
Windshield mounted: V1. I know there's one that guarantees no tickets, but I forget which one...

If you want the best radar/laser detector, get a Valentine One.

If you want the best laser jammer, get the AL, LPP, or the soon to be released in the U.S. Laser Interceptor.

^ Good advice. GuysofLidar is a great site. You'll find a lot of detailed tests there, and it's a good way to form your own opinion.

From my personal experience if you want the best, I would go the the valentine one ($399), but if you want the best bang for your buck, I would go with the Escort Passport 8500 X50 (red display)($299). (I've owned the x50, valentine one, Bel STi Driver, Bel Rx-65)

As for laser jammers... everyone has their own opinion on that. GuysofLidar has some good tests and information about those. I personally own a blinder m-20... before all this other crap came out, and now blinder has a better one (m25). I think it does fine on the 350Z, b/c it's a decent shaped car (although has big headlights), but if you want something better... allegedly the laser pro park is pretty good. The laser interceptor in the tests of guysoflidar.... was a prototype... so who knows how good the retail version will be. Not only that, there is NO WORD on when that thing is coming out. 2 months ago we were one month away from it, now we're 4 months away from it... so at that rate... never...

Note: Laser Jammers are illegal in a few states so check to see if yours is one of them.

RADAR jammers are illegal in all states and being caught with one carries a pretty big fine 10,000 dollars I think...? Maybe a 1000... in any case... not worth it.

If you want more information check www.radardetector.net it's a forum abotu detectors and jammers and such...

get the v1... it tell you how many signals are hitting you at once, and from which direction. x8500 doesnt...x9500 only saves where you were hit with radar. and laser jammers are junk. if you laser alarm goes off on whatever detector you pick, you're caught, as opposed to the radar, where you have like a 1/4 mile to react (usually).

You don't know what you're talking about. That's all I'm going to say.

Yeah but smart people who use radar detectors and laser jammers don't think of them as licenses for excessive speeding. I use them both and they are just there for when I may be going 9 or 10 over on a highway trip ya know?

Seems kind of a waste for just 9-10 over, especially when most of the time that is the grace period for speed.

valentine 1 is the only way to go. it tells you how many signals there are and where they are. understand that is a HUGE advantage.

laser deflectors are great also, might as well be completely covered considering laser use is rising. brands already suggested are good.

radar deflectors are either highly illegal or don't work. not worth it.

Wow, I’m shocked at the amount of ppl that didn't answer the question but decided to preach to the young man. First, to answer the question then my 2 cents:

I have 2 friends with the V1 (one w/a G35 the other with a STi) it works great and thus I am a bit biased. It seems that the V1 is most useful if you want to know where you’re getting hit from. However based on what I have read in various forums and reviews the Escort 8500 X50 and the new 9500i are really great with more user programmable functions. Either will suit your needs.

http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=9090

As for "obeying the law", it’s a hypocritical statement. Going 66 in a 65 is BREAKING the law, and to be honest with you in some parts of the county you WILL find police officers that have so little to do that they will give you a ticket for 70 in a 65 which results in points (if you have that system, KS does not) and EXPENSIVE tickets. Spend the money on the radar and save yourself a few bucks in the long run. Remember it’s a 350Z not a Ford Taurus, it’s easy to ENJOY the power of your ride. Don't do 100 in a 30 unless you want to risk your life and more importantly innocent others, not to mention a 1 way ride to jail and a **** load of $ to get your ride out of impound (and your dads foot up your ***).

Worst ticket I've received was a 59 in a 35 and that was in a 98 Accord Auto 3 months aft I got my license in NYS. Wasn't showing off but was driving in an area that had a low posted limit on a fairly straight road void of telephone poles and trees. Officer hooked me up with two non-moving violations in place of the speeding to save my license (NYS has probation period for new drivers).Either way I purchased a cheap-o radar and have been ticket free since.

Think I'll pick up a V1 or the new Escort w/GPS as a new toy for the new ride.

Good Luck

as stated before, you cant go wrong with either the V1 or the 9500i. I have the V1 and love it, wouldnt trade it for any other!

No doubt you have probably had a speeding ticket in your life time. It would have been nice to avoid that don't you think?

Yes you showed a lot of common sense when they yanked your license.
