quick question- i was changing out my headunit (done it 100 times throughout the years) and lost ALL power in that wiring harness. troubleshot for days and couldn't figure it out. finally ended up splicing into my cig lighter, and grounding it to get it to work. in the process, i lost my antenna signal. is there an antenna i can get and plug into the rear of the deck, and hide behind the dash and still get good reception?

1) you blew the fuse that normally supplied the power thru your harness to the headend.
2) when you by-passed the harness you supplied power to the radio but didn't supply power to the antenna's RF amplifier which is mounted in the trunk just under the antenna. Without power the radio signals will be very low. Find the power wire that runs to the RF amplifier and all will be good again.
