Default Need Help from Audo expert

My after audio system is acting up.

I have a pioneer headunit and running with a 5 channel amps and a Pioneer ipod adapter. The sounds go on and off. At first, I thought is my headunit, but I dont think it is my headunit because the cd player continue to runs while the sound stop. Then I thought it might be my speakers but I dont think its my speakers because I dont think all six speakers busted at the same time .

I went to Circuit City to ask for advice, the guy said it could be my audio out on the headunit, or my amps or the wires were loose. What do you guys think? Has that happen to anyone? Any input would be great, thanks.
